Masterpiece
James Pompaday was just an 11 year old boy that lived an average life. The story takes place in New York City, where James lives. The first and most important event in my opinion was when James got a ink pen set for his birthday. This is when the next main character Marvin comes in.
Marvin is a beetle who lives in the Pompaday's wall. One day he ventures outside his family's house and finds James' ink set. Forgetting his family's warnings about exposing himself to humans, he begins drawing. In the end he makes a tiny, gorgeous drawing of the city outside of James' window.
Mr. and Mrs, Pompaday are James' parents who never listen and only focus on business. When they find this magnificent drawing, Mr. and Mrs. Pompaday, Karl, James' first dad, and the people at the Metropolitan Museum of Art believe that James made it. So, the Met asks James a huge favor.
The Met has a magnificent picture displayed. It is called Fortitude, created by a artist named Albrecht Durer. Unfortunately, the three other paintings in the Virtue set, Justice, Prudence, and Temperance, have been stolen. Christina, one of the managers at the Met, and the FBI have teamed up to find the rest of the Virtues. It leads to an amazing discovery.
This book is good for people who like art and mystery. I would give this book 3/5 stars.
